Fixtures that are never one material.

A bar front, a cage surround or a slot base is a metal frame carrying wood, glass, acrylic and often an integrated lighting or power run. Drawn by two vendors, those meet for the first time on the assembly floor.

Continuous-use construction.

Nothing shuts for a quiet period. Edge treatments, drawer hardware and touch surfaces carry a duty cycle closer to transport interiors than to commercial fit-out, and the detail has to reflect that rather than the appearance drawing.

Installation into a live building.

Sections, field joints and access routes matter more here than almost anywhere else, because the item has to reach the floor through a working property and be assembled overnight.

Feature geometry that is not standard casework.

Curved bar fronts, faceted surrounds and continuous surfaces that must be built from discrete pieces. These are the items where a section through the drawing does not describe the shape, and where 3D modelling stops being optional.

The interface nobody drew.

The single most common failure, and it is the reason mixed-material work needs one drawing set rather than two.

Items that cannot reach the floor.

A bar front built in one piece, drawn without reference to the service lift or the route from the loading bay, at a property where the gaming floor cannot close for a day.

Lighting and power provision added after detailing.

Routing, access and clearance decided once the carcass is already dimensioned, which forces either a visible compromise or a rebuild.

Finish build-up eating the clearance.

Powder-coated frame plus finished wood, both dimensioned nominally, meeting at a joint that had no allowance for either.
