CAD Technician job description

BluEnt is seeking a detail-oriented Architectural CAD Associate to join its Architectural Documentation team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals to create precise and innovative architectural designs.

Work Experience

1-3 years

Required Skills

Education:
-Associate’s degree or certification in architectural drafting, or a related field.

Experience:
-Minimum of 4 years of experience in architectural drafting.
-Experience with American design and drafting standards is preferred.

Technical Skills:
-Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
-Strong understanding of architectural sketching and design principles.
-Knowledge of building design, construction codes, and structural analysis.

Personal Attributes:
-Excellent attention to detail and precision.
-Strong organizational and time management skills.
-Analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):
-Experience with 3D modeling software.
-Familiarity with building systems and construction processes.

Requirements

Technical Drawing Development: Create and modify detailed technical drawings for residential, commercial, and other structures based on architects' sketches and specifications.
Drafting and Design: Use CAD software to develop technical documents including master plan sets, site layouts, elevations, floor plans, sections, and construction details.
Code Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, technical specifications, and industry standards, while reviewing designs for accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to refine drawings and incorporate feedback. And oversee the work of junior team members when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed plans for structures, foundations, and buildings based on provided data. Generate additional project documentation as needed.
Problem-Solving & Refinement: Analyze building specifications and codes to address design challenges and optimize architectural solutions.
