Not necessarily simple, and not necessarily from a catalogue. Standard means the item is built more than once to the same configuration.

An error multiplies.

A dimension two millimetres out on a one-off is a scribe. Across two hundred units, the same error can become two hundred reworks before anyone catches it.

Consistency matters more than elegance.

A unit drawn beautifully once but differently on the next release is a worse outcome than a plain unit drawn identically every time.

Material yield stops being a rounding error.

Panel dimensions set without reference to sheet sizes waste material invisibly per unit and substantially across the count.

The second project should not require the same decisions to be made again.

With repeating work, conventions and details captured once carry forward. That only happens if they were recorded rather than remembered.

Standard casework is documented through shop and submittal drawings, with the geometry set out under casework elevations, plans and sections.

Where volume makes yield matter, optimised cut lists covers the material side. Where a repeating library exists in a drawing environment but has never been made parametric, legacy 2D to parametric conversion is the relevant work.

If your item exists once rather than repeating, custom millwork detailing is the closer fit.
